Good Day!!!

Thank you for inquiring about Moose Lake Resort. We are pleased that you have chosen us and look forward to welcoming you to a pleasant stay! We hope that you will enjoy your stay enough to want to repeat it many times and tell your friends about us too.

We have a small, friendly resort with 5 cottages set near the shoreline and far enough apart for privacy. Our grounds are nearly level (no hills) with grass to the waters edge. Our beach has a good sand bottom, gradual slope and no drop off. Part of the area is marked to keep boats out and as a safety measure for young swimmers. The playground is well equipped with  wood gym sets that have baby swing, tunnel slides, clatter bridge, merry go round, and swings. Kids love the jumbo sandbox and backhoe digger as well as the playhouse with kitchen and dress up clothes. There are board games, books and magazines for your use and enjoyment in the Family Room. Have lots of fun with our vintage bowling machine.

Sometimes we're lucky enough to be entertained by the otters that nest in the bay while we picnic by the lakefront. A campfire on the beach or just plain relaxing make for a perfect day. Star-gazing is a favorite pastime. How long has it been since you've seen the milky way? Its fun to tour the lake to see its beauty, where the best fishing spots are and the locations of the picnic areas. There are two sheltered picnic tables, one on an island and one up the Little Moose River where you can stop for a break, enjoy a great brunch or even spend the day fishing and swimming. With only 5 other small resorts on the lake, there is no congestion here!

Moose is a 9.5 mile long narrow flowage lake approximately 1.5 mile wide at the widest point. - Click here for an online map of Moose Lake.

It has many bays and islands, is fed by 3 rivers and dozens of springs. The West Fork of the Chippewa, Big and Little Moose Rivers flow through. Naturally, fishing is best May thru mid June and late August thru October. But fishing has been quite good in summer too although it requires working at it a little harder. Moose is a Class A Musky lake which means there are no northerns and musky is king. Our musky, walleye, smallmouth bass, black crappie, jumbo perch and bluegills keeps our fishermen happy. Excellent guides are available to help you learn the lake and the best techniques for our waters. Reservations with guides for early in your stay are recommended and should be made when you make your cottage reservation. Float trips by canoe or jon boat down the West Fork are a treat for fishing or just to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. Being in the heart of the Chequamegon (Shh-wa-ma-gon) National Forest, there are many beautiful birds and wildlife to thrill and treat you with their presence. We have two pair of nesting bald eagles, many blue heron, colorful songbirds, shy deer, tricky raccoons, busy beavers, red fox and plenty of chipmunks--so bring peanuts or sunflower seeds. At dusk the flying squirrels visit our birdfeeders and the coyotes and owls make night music with the frogs. If you're into crafts or just want to fancy up your landscape, this is a driftwood paradise as well.

We have one 2-bedroom, 1 bath, cottage with a 3 season porch near shore for rent. Our nearly 400 ft of shoreline and approximately 4 acres of grounds are shared with 5 other condo cottages. You will find your neighbors friendly and welcoming. You will certainly enjoy a stay at Moose Lake Resort Condominiums!!!

Our cottage is equipped for self-catering with cabinet kitchen, stainless steel sink, Formica counter, complete baking and cooking utensils, silverware, Corelle dishes, glasses, toaster, Mr. Coffee coffeepot, gas stove, refrigerator with freezer, microwave oven. All bed linens are provided, however, you must bring your own dish and bath towels. Also, a TV with satellite and DVD player is in the cottage. We encourage you to bring your own DVD's.

Your cottage has a picnic table for your use and a gas grill at no extra cost. We even provide nite-lites. Well behaved pets, leashed when outdoors are welcome with a pet charge. You are expected to pick up after them on the grounds but please use our Dog Walk for fun and exercise. To comply with state health regulations, pets are not allowed on upholstered furniture or bedding.

Our boats are 15 ft aluminum. The use of one boat is included in the cottage rate. Four canoes, a jonboat and a paddle boat are also available. 9 or 15 hp outboard motors are rented by the day or week. Bait shops are a few miles away, as are 4 family restaurants with bars. A number of other excellent restaurants are within a 10 minute drive. Our fish cleaning house has running water, boat cushions and life jackets.

You are welcome to bring your own boat or motor. There are Individual docks for each cottage and an easy boat ramp. The center dock has a seating area with four benches. Water skiing is allowed. There are firms that will rent a fully equipped ski boat for approx. $1200 a week delivered to the resort upon your arrival. Pontoon boats rent for approx. $700. week. Both must be reserved well in advance of your arrival.

We are a 25 minute ride over good highway to Hayward and many attractions, museums, unique shops, restaurants, flea markets, and antique shops. Horseback riding, pow-wows, bingo, gaming casinos, lumberjack shows, golf, tennis, movie theaters, river tubing, bike and nature trails, artisan and craft shops, pontoon boat tours and many other forms of entertainment are nearby. The Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and 3-1/2 story tall musky are a must to see!

Our family looks forward to making you welcome and seeing you have an enjoyable stay. We or our help will fill innertubes, start bonfires, get gas (for our motors only), join in a swim or some other fun.

If you need directions or help in planning an outing, just ask! One of our favorite places is Copper Falls State Park, so bring hiking shoes and camera. Duluth and Superior are about 100 miles away, Bayfield and the Apostle Islands, 75 miles. We'll help you plan a days visit to places of interest, including some off the beaten track, sure to please.

A phone call or e-mail will hold your resevation until deposit arrives within the following ten days. You can send back the reservation form at the bottom of the rate sheet along with 1/3 per week deposit. Upon receipt, we will send you a confirmation and directions. We look forward to hearing from you soon and welcoming you to our family of friends!

This is our 32nd year of operation and we look forward to welcoming you............

Sincerely, Gene and Dorothy Pasko

P.S. Be sure to bring at least one warm outfit--slacks and sweatshirt per person--as sometimes even summer evenings get chilly and we sleep under blanket 90% of the time even though the days are warm and sunny. Please don't be shy if you telephone during a time we are gone and the answering machine is on. It is there because we don't want to miss your important call. Rest assured, if you leave a message, we will return your call. Thanks a lot.
